Summary of services we offer:
Victims of crime need a variety of support systems to help them deal with the physical, emotional, financial and legal consequences of their victimization. In response to these needs we offer:
- Crisis intervention and help coping with the trauma of violent victimization
- Assistance filing Crime Victim Compensation claims and insurance forms
- Direction to help access medical and/or mental health services
- Advocacy and guidance through the criminal justice system
- Community-based support groups
- Striving to ensure victims’ voices are heard and that their opinions are considered
- Assistance completing Victim Impact Statements
- Accompaniment to court proceedings
- Referral to other support services available throughout the community
- Personal Advocacy – Support of victims with public service providers, creditors, employers, insurance companies, utilities providers, etc
- Information on applying for restitution
- Assistance in the Return of Personal Property that may have been taken by law enforcement as part of an investigation.

What is advocacy?
Advocacy is the process of actively supporting, and/or acting on behalf of oneself, another person, or a cause. Advocacy can be action taken to assure the best possible services for or intervention in the service system on behalf of an individual.
At SAFENOWPROJECT, our advocates provide support, encouragement, information, resources and referrals to crime victims and their significant others.
